NHL Revealed: A Season Like No Other

First of all I would like to apologize for not posting in over a month! It has been a crazy month, more to come on that later.

So this season the NHL decided to do a documentary series called NHL Revealed: A Season Like No Other. This follows players and teams that are part of the new Coors Light Stadium Series games and on their way to the Sochi Winter Olympics. The series was a seven episode series which I bought on iTunes for $1.99 and episode, I decided to save $1.00 an episode and not get the HD version. I would download an episode and watch it at the gym, each episode was about 60 minutes long.

I loved the series, mostly because I just love hockey. My only complaint is that my team, the San Jose Sharks, were not mentioned once. Even when they were recapping the Olympics and Joe Pavelski scored an important goal against Russia, I believe, his name wasn't mentioned. They showed his face but just said Team America scored and important goal. The fact that the Sharks weren't mentioned in this series bothers me a bit. Not just because they are my favorite team and I love everything about them but because the series is called NHL Revealed. Doesn't that imply that its about all of the NHL? Not just part of it? Maybe it was because the Sharks didn't participate in a Stadium Series game, but in that case shouldn't they have rename the show to something about the Stadium Series?

Anyways if you are a hockey fan I highly recommend watching this. It takes you into the lives of players you hate and you learn to not like them, but to hate them a little less.

Got My Hur Did

As many of you know I like to dye my hair, a lot. So I recently bought a box of burgundy hair dye from Target and was disappointed. The color wasn't as noticeable as I wanted it to be even though I don't like it to be super noticeable. That's when Auntie La mentioned Henna. So I looked into it and bought the burgundy dye from The Henna Guys. At first I was super nervous to do this because everything I read said it stained everything and anything, I was also nervous about the intensity of the color.

Package of the Henna dye.
So first things first, I mixed the dye to a cake mix like consistency and I did this about an hour ahead of time because they said it needs time to rest. Then I had to cover the bathroom with plastic just in case I got dye somewhere I shouldn't have. The blogs I read about dying your hair said you should do it in the shower. So I covered the walls and put my full length mirror in the bathtub and sat down with the dye (I wish I had a picture of what the bathroom looked like because it was hilarious how much I covered it!).

Next I separated my hair into sections and started to apply this mud to my hair. The smell was awful, okay it wasn't that bad but definitely not something I want my hair to smell like. It took me about an hour to apply the dye to all of my hair and my gloves were too big and kept sliding up so I got lots of dye all over my hands.

After I applied all the dye the blogs said to wrap your head in plastic wrap because you have to wait at least 2 hours! The dye I bought came with a lovely shower cap so I put that on too, just for some extra protection.

I waited about 2 1/2 hours with the dye in my hair because I wasn't sure how intense the color would look against my dark hair. These first two pictures are right after I rinsed the dye out.

These pictures were taken about 4 days after I applied it. The blogs said the color settles after about 48 hours so you should wait to see if you like the color later.

These next couple of pictures were about a week later. I still couldn't get a picture that really showed the color but this is the best I could do, and now it is raining outside and I can't get a good picture with some good lighting!

So the reason it took me so long to post this was because I was trying to get the most perfect picture of my hair but I gave up. I'll post some later if I get some good ones.

I also wanted to say how much I loved the henna dye compared to box dye. First henna is all natural, it has no chemicals or other stuff that box dyes have. Second it naturally conditions your hair! I haven't had to use conditioner since I dyed it and I wake up with awesome hair. The bad things is that after I dyed it, it took a long time to get all the mud out of my hair. The smell also stayed in my hair for about a week, but it was less intense as the week went on. But I went to the gym the next day and I sweated and my hair smelled so bad! I also blotted my sweat with my sleeve and my sweat was orange! And the last thing I am frustrated about is that the blogs said it would take a couple of weeks to wash out all the dye/mud from your hair, its been two weeks and when I wash my hair it still has a slight orange tinge to it. Overall I would most definitely dye my hair again with henna. I think next time I will leave the dye in for 3 or more hours. I like the color but want it a little more intense.

A Little Help from my Friend

Last night as I was working a late night shift redoing floor displays at the store one of my coworkers and two managers and I were reminiscing about out early high school/college years and how much out bodies have changed since then. We were all showing pictures of how skinny and different we looked. That's when my coworker decided to turn this into a competition. Starting March 1st and ending on May 1st fore very pound you lose you put 50 cents into a pot. At the end of the two months the one who has lost the most weight gets to keep all the money! I'm actually really excited about this competition. Hopefully it will actually motivate me to hit the gym more consistently. If only I wasn't so tired from my early morning yoga class! Anyways even if I don't win the competition I will still win by losing weight! Wish me luck!

Here Comes the Bride

Today Auntie La took me and Auntie Car to a flower arranging class. We didn't know what the class was making until we got there. But we soon learned we were making bridal bouquets! This class was so much fun! I learned that adults are just as bad as kids when you ask them to stop, listen, and watch before you try it yourself. It was crazy, the woman leading the class asked us to watch her first then we would all do ours and she could come around and help if you had questions. Almost every single person tried to start their bouquet while she was still explaining! There were also lots of brides in this class and they all looked like they had the potential to be a bridezilla! Overall I had a blast!

The first bouquet we made.

Auntie Car working on her first bouquet.

All three of the first bouquets we made!

Starting the second bouquet, and all rose one.

Orange roses.

Long Time No Post!

So this post goes out to the one and only Kaitlyn Phillipps! She had informed me that I haven't posted in a while, yes I agree but in my defense I have been so busy yet have nothing to talk about! School has started up again and yeah, I don't have much to say about it.

I am taking a yoga/Pilates fusion class. Sounds fun right? Except for the fact that it is at 7:30 am. I have never had a class before 9 am in college so I don't know why I decided to shoot for the stars with this early morning one. I am also taking World Music, pretty interesting so far. Today we learned to Hula dance! That was super fun but if you know me I was awful at it. Next I have American Cultures. I expected this class to be more of a lecture class about American customs and traditions. Yeah, I was wrong. We sit in a circle and have discussions all the time. We are also reading a book about the Nevada Test Site. I am also taking Art History: Pre-Historic to Gothic art. We just finished learning about the Egyptians. that was pretty awesome! And lastly I am taking Cultural Anthropology. This class is a big lecture class so it makes me feel like I am back at OSU. Expect the first week of class I had these rude girls sit behind me that talked all through class, even when I politely asked them to be quiet! How rude!

Other than school my grandma was admitted into the hospital so that's been stressful.

Here's an update on my New Year's Resolutions:
I joined Auntie La's gym finally. And I went today after school. I'm going to make it a habit to go everyday after school. So this means that I am driving! Yaya! I have been driving to work and school, I drove to Haley's house the other night in the pouring rain. That was an achievement in my book. And I drove to the gym today. It's the little things.

Haley has been teaching me how to take the perfect selfie, so I'll leave you with this one.

Life is Full of Surprises!

So yesterday I went into the Verizon store because it was time to upgrade my iPhone 4S. I was expecting to leave the store with a gold iPhone 5s. What I left with was a white Droid Mini and a white iPad air! I was not expecting this at all. When I walked into the store I saw the iPhone 5s and I was disappointed. The phone just looked small and narrow, especially when it was sitting next to all those giant android phones. So then I started looking at the droids. When I was talking to the sales man he told me I should go straight for the iPhone. I then mentioned I was thinking about getting an iPad later down the road because I've been wanting one for a couple of months. He then told me they were having a special on their iPads where you get $100 off of the device so an iPad with data would cost you the same as one without. He then told me that on our plan it would only cost $10 more to add a tablet to it. This was starting to sound awesome but I wasn't expecting to spend just that much money yet. Then the sales man found out I had an old iPhone 4S. He told me I could trade it in for $200 and I could use that towards the purchase of the iPad! I then desided that I didn't need a new iPhone and and iPad, so that is why I got the Droid Mini because it was only $50! I have no idea how to use the new phone but I am figuring it out. Everything is just so new to me, I'm trying to figure everything out at once! If anyone has any tips or suggestions bout apps I should get let me know!!!

Also I just want you to know I wrote this post from my iPad :)

California Land!

Day Two

You guys all thought I left you hanging and I know you all are dying to know what I did on my second day at Disneyland. So here goes!

They day started out with breakfast at the Rainforest Cafe, I had a Mexican breakfast pizza. It was pretty good, but everyone was making fun of me because at this point my voice was almost completely gone. I was literally at a whisper. And you know me I do not whisper.

After breakfast we went straight into California Land and walked directly to Car's Land and to the Radiator Springs Racers. The wait was already 40 minutes long and it was only about 9:30 am when the park opened at 9 am. The line for the fast passes was super long as well. They must have run out of fast passes in like an hour. But this ride was totally worth the wait! First you go through and its like any other Disneyland ride where it basically tells the story of the movie, but then you meet up with another car and you guys race each other! I wasn't expecting that but it was pretty cool.

Next we walked down Car's Land and let me tell you, it looked just like it did in the movie. It was crazy! One of the rides that was there wasn't working which was really sad but the other one was Mater's Junkyard Jamboree. It was basically like the Scrambler at the local fair. I went with Ian on this ride and every time they swung a corner Ian would slide into me and squish me! It was hilarious.

After Car's Land the boys went on the big roller coaster. I decided not to go on, Space Mountain was my only roller coaster for the weekend. So me and Auntie La went on some of the kiddie type rides like the swings. On our way over there we saw Buzz and Woody and got our pictures taken with them. But those pictures are on Auntie La's camera.

When we met up with the boys again Ian was really upset that I got a picture with Buzz and Woody and when we went back to get pictures with them they were gone, but Jesse was there! So we got a picture with her. I also saw the Army Men performing while we were walking there. They had a performance much like the Blue Man Group.

After that we went and saw the Aladdin show. It was really funny, the Genie had jokes about Kim Kardashian and Miley Cyrus. When we got out Sulley was across the street so obviously we had to get a picture with him. Ian wanted to take a selfie with him, because how awesome is that? When I gave my phone to the photographer to take a normal picture with Sulley, he got a picture of us taking a selfie. It was pretty awesome.

After this we went and had lunch in Downtown Disney, we watched some football and then Ian was tired so he decided to got back to the hotel and sleep. Dad, Auntie La, and I decided to go back to Disneyland we went on some other rides that we didn't go on before and we went on Pirates and the Jungle Cruise again. Then we watched the fireworks but we watched it from the back side of the park by "It's a Small World". It was pretty cool seeing the fireworks close up and from a different angle.

Day Three

It is football Sunday! We went to the ESPN Zone but we got there too late and couldn't get a table. So we went to the Rainforest Cafe again and watched the game there! The Niner's won so we all went home as happy campers.

Overall I had such a great time at Disneyland! I would definitely remember this trip in the future.

When You Wish Upon A Star...

This post is dedicated to the last couple of days in Disneyland and California Adventure, or as I like to call it, California Land. There will be mostly pictures but these are not all the pictures. These are the pictures that I took and what my brother Ian took. My dad still has a bunch that he needs to put on Facebook and Auntie La has a bunch that I might steal later!

Day One

The day started out with the purchase of some Minnie Mouse sequence sparkly mouse ears and a selfie in front of the castle.

The first ride we went on was Space Mountain because we wanted to beat the lines. And beat the lines we did! The sign said there was about a 10 minute wait we figured out that was how long it took to walk through all the empty lanes, standing in line we waited about 2 minutes. Now I don't like roller coasters. I don't like the feeling of my stomach falling out my butt when you go down a large drop. So I screamed, alot. And I may have cried a little! But this was my one new thing for the day! Also I might add that I was starting to lose my voice from being sick so my screams were pretty pathetic.

Next, we went on the Buzz Lightyear ride, I emailed the pictures of that one to myself but can't seem to find them. After that we went on Autotopia! Dad has pictures of this ride on his camera so I'll post those later.

After that we made our way to Fantasyland, yes we skipped Star Tours because at this point the wait was pretty long. So we waited in line for the Matterhorn which wasn't that bad of a wait. They changed the seats on this ride. Instead of two people sharing a seat sitting in eachother's laps, everyone gets their own individual compartment. Dad and Ian said they were both too tall for this ride and that there wasn't enough leg room and that they probably wouldn't go on it again. Boo hoo :( I fit just fine!

While still in Fantasyland, I wanted to go on It's a Small World because I have not been on this ride since I was maybe 3 years old. Legend says that we all got stuck on this ride for at least 3 hours and all we heard was the "It's a small world" song play over and over...So I felt enough time had passed that we could go on again. And every thing was okay.

Then we made our way over to Frontier Land and New Orleans Square. Unfortunately Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and The Haunted MAnsion were both closed. But Auntie La and I read on the internet that if you ask, you can drive the Mark Twain ferry boat! That was so much fun.

Wasting some time in Frontier Land while we waited for our lunch reservation.

The Pirates of the Caribbean is one of my favorite rides!

Then we made our way to Critter Country because I love Winnie the Pooh! So we went on that ride and afterwards we got to take pictures with Tigger and Eeyore.

Now by this time we had basically gone on all the rides we really wanted to in the park and it was only about 2:00pm. We had lunch reservations at the famous Blue Bayou. And you guessed it all four of us got the monte cristo with a side of gumbo. It was very yummy but man my tummy was so upset from all that fried food. After lunch we decided to go back to the hotel, take a soak in the hot tub and take a nap and come back to the park in time for fireworks. The fireworks show was amazing! We watched it from the main street train station so it was a nice clear view.

After the fireworks we decided to bare the long line and waited in line for Star Tours. While waiting in line we started doing Disney trivia on my phone on an app called QuizUp. That made the wait go by much faster. They redesigned Star Tours since the last time I went on it and let me tell you it was pretty awesome! It is in 3-D now and the graphics and everything was just really well done. The picture below was my dad trying on a Yoda hat. I tried to convince him to get it but he wasn't into it.

And more selfies! Wow I did not realize how long it was going to take me to write this post and I still have Day Two to do. I will try to work on that one tomorrow. Thanks for reading!
