Procrastination at it's Finest

So I am taking a 400 level classes that requires a lot of reading. Normally I just scan the readings but I learned that I actually need to read them. My midterm is next Thursday, this picture is all the readings I have to do between now and then. Minus the first entry because I did that today:) Sorry Mom and Dad, I know this is not what you wanted to hear.

Mom's Weekend

This past weekend was Mom's Weekend here at Oregon State University. My mom loves to come up every year, the only problem is we never know what to do so we just end up staying in and watching movies all weekend. This weekend we finally figured out what to do and we packed it full of all sorts of fun! First we got massages and pedicures.

After that we had dinner at a local brewpub with Kyle. I had two beers and got a little buzzed because I am a light weight when it comes to alcohol. So my mom volunteered to drive home. My car is an automatic. My mom has not driven stick since I was about 6. Let's just say it was very interesting. She didn't kill the engine and I am proud of her for that but I might need to get a new clutch sooner than I though.

On Saturday we went to breakfast at a bar. They had a special on bottomless mimosas. I wasn't sure how good the food was going to be because it is a dance club. But the food was really good. We decided not to get bottomless mimosas because I had to drive and my mom said it was too early to drink. After that we went to a paint and wine class. I had never been to one but my mom has been to a couple back home. We were both rebels and decided not to do the painting they were teaching us. The original painting had a coffee cup in it neither my mom or I drink coffee so we didn't want a coffee cup. I decided to do a cat, surprise, and my mom did a wine glass! The instructor loved my cat along with everyone else in the class.
This is my mom. I tried to get a good picture of her and she kept moving! But I think this is a really great picture.

My stupid phone takes such bad pictures. Don't mind the glare in the background.

Our masterpieces!

After the paint and wine class, we picked up Kyle and drove over to Albany. My friends Sam and DJ are getting married and their wedding shower was that day! I have known Sam since I was in the 4th grade, so my mom knew him and his parents and was very happy to see them. They had really good BBQ and homemade desserts. Kyle and I loved the cake pops, we both took a bunch home.

On Sunday my mom had to catch the noon bus to take her to the airport so we grabbed breakfast at another bar! This one was pretty good too. They have really good lunch and dinner so I figured their breakfast would be good too. We got done with breakfast early so we went to the Memorial Union and relaxed as we waited for her bus. We also took a picture in front of the MU.

Thanks for coming up to Mom's Weekend, Mom! I had so much fun!

Taco Time

This picture might be a little random because I forgot to post it the day I took it. But I took this picture with all intent of posting it to my blog! Kyle and I decided to make tacos for dinner. This picture is of the prep station. I made some yummy guacamole and I got to eat it all by myself because Kyle doesn't like avocados. This wouldn't have been a very memorable night because we make tacos often but this time I lit the stove on fire! I wanted to be creative and I decided to fry the tortillas in some oil. The pan was too small for the tortilla and some of the oil dripped out of the pan and onto the burner. BOOM! It caught fire. It was really scary because I hate all things fire, so I made Kyle fry the rest of the tortillas.
